US Gun Deaths 1999-2014
6/24/16 - The latest numbers show that there were 497,632 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2014 in the United States: 291,571 suicides (58.6% of total gun deaths); 185,718 homicides (37.3%); 10,569 unintentional gun deaths (2.1%); 5,750 firearm deaths from legal intervention (1.2%); and 4,024 firearm deaths with undetermined intent (0.8%).

6/24/16 - The latest numbers show that between 1999 and 2014, firearms were the 12th leading cause of death (1.2% of all deaths); the leading method of both suicide (52.0% of all suicides) and homicide (66.9% of all homicides); and the 14th leading cause of unintentional deaths (0.6% of all unintentional deaths).
