John Kurtz, JD Mr. Kurtz is a partner at the law firm of Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley. He was admitted to bar in California (1978) and Idaho (1979). Jadwiga Markoff, MD, PhD Dr. Markoff was born and raised in Poland, where she received a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree with Honors and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology, both from the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice. After immigrating to the United States in 1984, she received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she conducted research in the field of psychoneuropharmacology.
In Poland, Dr. Markoff served as the Co-Chair and Assistant Head of the Intensive Care Unit at the Department of Children's Diseases at the Silesian Medical Academy. She was also an Assistant Research Professor in the Academy's Department of Pharmacology. Dr. Markoff received a 2nd degree specialization in Pediatrics.
Dr. Markoff is the author and co-author of over 20 papers and the recipient of numerous honors, including the 1st Degree Team Award of the National Minister of Health (Poland) for her pharmacological research, and the Golden Award "Primus Inter Pares" for high scholastic standing. While still at the Silesian Medical Academy, she was invited to participate in student fellowships in Spain and a fellowship in Japan for her work in pharmacology. She speaks English, Polish, Russian, and Esperanto.

Steven C. Markoff, Chairman and Founder Mr. Markoff is a native of Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Los Angeles City College in 1964 with an Associate Arts degree. His business affiliations and background includes serving as Chairman of A-Mark Financial Corporation, a Santa Monica-based financial services company he founded in 1965. In 2004 he helped found and is Co-Chair of A-Mark Entertainment, and he is a film producer.

Bruce McNallMr. McNall has had a long and storied career in professional sports, business, and motion picture entertainment.
In professional sports, he is the former owner of the Los Angeles Kings hockey team where he famously signed Wayne Gretzky to play for the Kings. He was elected Chairman of the National Hockey League’s Board of Governors – hockey’s second highest post. In 1989, he received the Sporting News Executive of the Year award, and in 1993 he won the NHL’s Lester Patrick Award for contributions to hockey in America. He co-owned, along with actor John Candy and hockey star Wayne Gretzky, the Toronto Argonauts team of the Canadian Football League. He also owned thoroughbred racehorses, one of which (Saumarez) won France's most prestigious race, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He did business as a coin and antiquity dealer for several years. As a film producer, he was responsible for the following motion pictures: War Games (1983), Mr. Mom (1983), and Weekend at Bernies (1989) among many others. He was awarded the Key to the City of Los Angeles, the Key to the City of Toronto, Man of the Year at City of Hope, and numerous other civil honors. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) where he received the Regent’s Award – the highest award given in the University of California system. He was also an instructor of ancient history at UCLA. In 2003 he published a book about the highs and lows of his life titled Fun While It Lasted: My Rise and Fall in the Land of Fame and Fortune.

Stanley F. Shimohara, CPA, MBA, JD Mr. Shimohara is a tax partner with Sanders Kalvin McMillan Carter, LLP, a CPA firm located in West Los Angeles. Mr. Shimohara has more than 35 years of experience in providing tax planning and business consultation services.
Prior to joining Sanders Kalvin McMillan Carter, LLP, Mr. Shimohara had been a tax partner with a Big Four accounting firm. Over the years, Stan has provided tax planning and consultation services to businesses ranging in size from Fortune 500 corporations to privately held companies, tax-exempt organizations and private foundations.
Mr. Shimohara has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Loyola Law School, as well as Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, the California Society of CPA's and the California State Bar Association.
