
Prior to his term in the Assembly, Mr. Gatto worked as an aide to Congressman Brad Sherman, and served as President of the El Pueblo (Los Angeles Historical Monument Authority) in the administrations of three different Los Angeles mayors. The Speaker of the California State Assembly recently appointed Gatto to the California Delta Conservancy Council, the state’s water authority, charged with conveying supplies to Southern California and meeting our state’s environmental goals.
His professional experience includes teaching English, and as an attorney for O’Melveny & Myers, Mayer Brown LLP, and most recently a law firm he founded.
He received a BA degree in history from the University of California Los Angeles and a law degree from Loyola Marymount University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
