ProCon.org Serves Civil Discourse at the Dinner Table to Millions
ProCon.org has engaged more than 22 million people in 2017. The current political climate with its signature incivility and record-high partisanship makes the demand for ProCon.org especially urgent and time sensitive.
During this holiday season, ProCon.org is promoting its “Heal the Divide“ campaign with a video that presents how NOT to behave around the dinner table and how ProCon.org is the antidote to potential arguments and food fights.
“ProCon.org is a free educational tool designed to be used all the time by students, teachers, parents, and the rest of us. Anyone who is determined to make up their own mind on important issues without the influence of bias, ads, fake news, and bad journalism needs the oasis of ProCon.org. This service exists for your public benefit,” says Kamy Akhavan, CEO of ProCon.org.
“As someone who uses procon.org personally, I see the great value it can bring to California’s students, teachers, and librarians. This free educational resource helps students develop vital 21st century skills such as critical thinking and civics education. It also helps them learn about important issues, and is consistent with Common Core and the findings of my Education Technology Task Force,” says Tom Torlakson, former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Joe Sestak, Former Congressman and Navy Admiral, says “Objective information is hard to come by in the media markets of today. ProCon.org provides objective and well researched information and analysis on some of America’s most pertinent, often controversial, issues. It has been a wealth of knowledge for me and a source of valuable information for my staff. It serves pragmatic solutions well.”
