Minnesota becomes 12th US state to legalize same-sex marriage

– Minnesota becomes 12th US state to legalize same-sex marriage – Governor Mark Dayton signed the bill into law on May 14, 2013, overturning a legislative ban on gay marriage in force since 1997. 36 states still have gay marriage bans, while two states have no laws banning or legalizing it.
