New York Becomes the Sixth State to Legalize Gay Marriage

New York Becomes the Sixth State to Legalize Gay Marriage: Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law on June 24, 2011 that grants same-sex couples the right to marry, more than doubling the number of Americans living in states that allow same-sex marriage. New York joins five other states (MA, CT, IA, VT, NH) and DC in legalizing same-sex marriage.
