Cristina Penland, Associate Researcher

Being the child of diplomatic parents, Cristina has traveled the world from a young age and lived in cities like Brussels, Paris, London, Bogota, and Stockholm. These experiences sparked her affinity for foreign policy, the arts and literature, but most of all, her love of people.

After settling in Los Angeles, she was recruited by the Consulate General of Ecuador, where she spearheaded the Consulate's humanitarian incentive, obtaining over 1.5 million dollars in donations and medical supplies for underprivileged children in Ecuador.

But her love of the arts brought her to work for Sony Pictures Television where she spent 7 years as their Post Production Coordinator, working with iconic shows like Breaking Bad, Damages, 'Til Death, Rules of Engagement, Community, and Justified, to name a few. And then to Kennedy Entertainment where she branched out into social media content and music production and distribution.

Cristina also works with the Independent Film and Television Alliance during their yearly American Film Market, where she works as a coordinator, supporting over 300+ international production companies and the screenings of their films.

She is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Swedish and speaks conversational Italian and Portuguese.

With such a diverse background, Cristina was proud to join ProCon in June 2019 as an Associate Researcher.
